Lil Wayne Released From Prison

in Culture

Lil Wayne has been released from prison.

He's been incarcerated since March on firearms charges.  It's strange because he didn't actually have the gun on him, it was found on his tour bus which was stopped by the NYPD because they said they could smell marijuana coming from the bus. In his defense his lawyer said that it didn't belong to Lil Wayne, it belonged to someone else.

This didn't make any difference to the police who reminded Lil Wayne's lawyer that it's an offence to even be in operational distance of a firearm without proper registration.

Lil Wayne has sold millions of records in his 14 year career, admits to smoking marijuana and has even been shot by groupies.  It's claimed that he was addicted to cough syrup but Lil Wayne refuted this.  Having been in trouble and scrapes with the police many times over the years Lil Wayne's luck finally ran out when he was caught near that gun.

During his time on Riker's Island Lil Wayne managed to release a digital version of his new album, "I Am Not A Human Being" on his birthday when he turned 28.

He had to spend most of his last month in almost solitary confinement as punishment for being caught with an MP3 charger and headsets.

Let's hope Lil Wayne can put his experience in prison into his music and stay outta jail.
